Swisscom's ATM network failed at 04:37. This is the second time this month! The outage lasted until 11:35. During that time all connectivity within Switzerland ceased to work. We apologize for the inconvenience!

Mail Server Migration has been successfully completed!

Our new mail server is now available under the address mail.datacore.ch. It now supports the protocols SSL as well as TLS and allows users to authenticate with SMTP-AUTH when sending mail! Using SMTP-AUTH customers can authenticate and send email via our mail servers from anywhere on the world.

The new server now supports folders as well as subfolders in POP and IMAP accounts. It allows users to connect to their mailboxes with POP3, POP3S, IMAP and SIMAP. Please consider switching to the secure protocols POP3S and SIMAP for your security!

The new Horde 3 Webmail has now become our default web based mail software. It includes a new Domain Manager as well as options to control Spam Assassin, our spam protection. The new Horde version 3 offers a lot of new features and a improved web based user interface. Our Mailing Lists have been integrated and are available on the Mailman page.

The new mail server supports and uses three different virus scanners to check incoming emails for intrusive software. A customer receiving suspicious email will receive a notice informing him of the contained malicous software and the orginal email will get quarantined.

Announcement: Mail Server Maintenance Work (19./20. February 2005)

Our administrators will do maintenance work on the DataCore Mailservers mail.datacore.ch this weekend. The mail servers will be unavailable for several short time periods between 6pm saturday and 6pm sunday. Mails received in the meantime will get spooled and stored.

Today we replaced our main proxy with a new Dell dual Xeon server. The new proxy server performs a lot better and is reachable under proxy.datacore.ch as before.

We upgraded our mail servers's spam software today. The new SpamAssassin based Spam detection software uses daily rules as well as the Distributed Clearing House, Razor2, Pyzor and Graylisting to detect and report Spam relayed to or received from one of our mail servers.

Today Swisscom's ATM network failed at 12:00. The outage lasted 8 hours. During that time all connectivity within Zuerich ceased to work. We apologize for the inconviniance!

We integrated access to our Database Manager service. It's available in the Customer Section. DataCore customers with a database on one of our servers are able to administrate the database as well as the data it contains conveniently over the web. Please use your database's username and password.

Today SUCON, the 2nd Swiss Unix Conference, started. It takes place in the Technopark Zurich until 4th of September. Several Linux Kernel Hackers, eg. Theodore Ts'o, Patrick Mochel, Greg Kroah-Hartman and others, will hold interesting talks.

Welcome to DataCore GmbH's new corporate webserver. The used content management system is based on DCWiki, one of our Open Source Projects, which in turn is a descendant of another open source project named JSPWiki .
